Abstract:

In 2021, the Australian-led Galactic Archaeology with HERMES (GALAH) Survey published its third data release, including abundances for up to 30 different elements of almost 0.6 million stars of the Milky Way.  I will show some of the highlights that came out of the exploration of this data in combination with Gaia DR2 and eDR3 (including my own work on the compositions and dynamics of accreted stars as a potential key to deciphering the vivid youth of our Milky Way).

I will also tell you how we are aiming for even more reliable stellar parameters and abundances with the next data release by combining Spectroscopy Made Easy with neural network interpolations.  This approach also opens exciting avenues for finally measuring CNO abundances in GALAH spectra and I am looking forward to discussing the advantages and dangers of this with you.
