CM09's cryogenic lines are too short to be connected to the VBox while IJCLab confirmed that they did not change them from the last test
Are there any fixing support inside?
Guillaume will check the detail
Leak test of CM12 at cold may be organized in January
cooling down to 4K, wait for 2 days, thermal cycle up to 20K
cooling down to 2K, wait for 2 day, thermal cycle up to 20K
A sensitive leak detector must be provided to FREIA
Cecilia will ask for vacuum team at ESS and they will also join the test at FREIA
ESS will perform heat load measurement soon and one of FREIA personals may join this test
Akira will directly contact to Nuno
Nicolas presented the progress of testing the broken motor originally in CM10 in the N2 test bench at IJCLab
The motor was immediately stuck
Nicolas observed that gearheat circlips was moved out of the groove and 0.7 mm axial displacement
Kjell will check our log about the tests of this motor with disengage system
Nicolas showed the strategy of motor tests
Akira pointed out that the influence of vacuum must also be carefully checked
Nicolas showed a new hypothesis on failty motor due to tilted shaft
The motors for elliptical cavities seem like protected by this tilting issue by the design of coupler
A new adapter to protect the motor shaft against the tiling was proposed
If we change the motors to the bigger ones used for elliptical cavities, interference to the thermal screen must be handled as well
In the worst case scenario of replacing all the motors in the spoke CMs, we need 4 months for procurement and some tests to change the thermal screen so the total period would be minimum half a year
Although FREIA cannot retest all the modules, CM13 and CM14 may be used as a benchmark of these modifications
There are minutes attached to this event.
