Abstract: I will present a novel structure in which a symmetry is extended by condensation defects of another symmetry. I will show that this structure arises generally after gauging part of the symmetry in theories with a class of cubic mixed ‘t Hooft anomalies. A distinctive feature is that the extension does not act on local operators but on linked configurations of extended operators. I will illustrate this phenomenon with examples from gauge theories in three and five spacetime dimensions, and discuss applications to supersymmetric RG flows involving the E1 and T[SU(N)] SCFTs. Based on 2509.16165 and 2607.16099.
