Trigger systems are a crucial part of high energy physics experiments, picking out the most interesting events from the flood of data consisting mostly of high rate background processes.
This seminar will cover the ATLAS jet trigger system and its performance and development over Run 2 of the LHC, as well as an unconventional data recording and analysis method that uses jets reconstructed in the trigger system as the basis for a search for dark matter mediators - a step towards "real-time analysis" in ATLAS.
