Sara Kalm is an associate professor in Political Science at Lund University. The talk on “academic housekeeping” is based on an article that she has written on this theme. Academic housekeeping is a term that she uses to capture the many tasks of a university department that require that somebody but not everybody performs them, that are invisible and non-promotable, yet often quite time-consuming. The talk covers how such tasks are unequally allocated, and discusses different reasons for this.
