Abstract:
Binary stars offer unique insights into stellar structure and evolution. As such, the study of magnetic fields on such objects allows for a better understanding of the role the magnetic field has on processes that influence the structure and evolution of its star. We have performed magnetic field studies on a collection of binary stars at different evolutionary stages using a variety of methods in order to probe different spatial scales to obtain more complete information about their magnetic properties. These results allow tests of theoretical models that shape how we understand the evolution and generation of magnetic fields on surfaces of stars.
