Abstract: Simulations of dynamic structures in the solar atmosphere advected in time is an important tool for understanding how they form and evolve, as physics that are unavailable through observations can be numerically calculated and compared to observational data. In this work, we have carried out realistic magnetohydrodynamic simulations of the solar atmosphere together with forward synthesis of spectral lines Hα and Si IV 1394Å and 1403 Å. We aim to investigate the formation, drivers and heating mechanisms behind dynamic structures at transition region temperatures (T=10^4-10^6 K). The model largely reproduces observed features in terms of size, lifetime and morphology in chromospheric, transition region and coronal observables.
