Abstract: The existence of a hypothetical Planet 9 lurking in the outer Solar
System has been posited as a plausible explanation for several statistical anomalies observed in the orbits of trans-Neptunian objects. A candidate location in the sky has been proposed by linking it to a peculiar meteoroid, likely of interstellar origin, that impacted Earth on 2014-01-09. This meteoroid may have undergone a gravitational encounter with Planet 9 (the "messenger hypothesis"). In this talk I'll report on preliminary (negative) results from a search in this candidate region and discuss the results within the context of other recent searches.
