Abstract:
Stellar macrophysics are the large-scale mixing and transport processes related to fluid dynamics. Decades of efforts and investigations, mostly based on 1D stellar evolution simulations, have left many open question regarding the properties and interactions of convection and rotation in stellar interiors. I will report on 3D stellar hydrodynamics simulations that answer some of these questions, such as simulations of rotating RGB stars, massive main-sequence stars and shell convection in advanced evolution phases of massive stars.
