Description
Abstract: The studies of the CP violating observables provide precise tests of the Standard Model, and in a broader context, they tackle the question of the dominance of matter over antimatter. On the other hand, the studies of the CPT symmetry, which according to CPT theorem must be conserved by any local, Lorentz-invariant quantum field theory with hermitian Hamiltionian, and hence by all SM particle interaction theories, provide a testing ground for New Physics phenomena. The precise experimental tests of CP and CPT symmetry violation can be performed by exploiting the neutral-meson oscillation phenomena, one of the fascinating effects predicted by Quantum Mechanics, in which the meson oscillates back and forth between particle and antiparticle states. In this talk, a selection of recent LHCb experimental results on CP and CPT symmetries will be given. The overview will focus mainly on the charm sector.
