Overview

After the successful workshop, we had in the past few years at CERN and in BNL, we propose you to meet at Uppsala University and exchange again on our challenges, projects and even in details on the very day life in operation of the test stands. Most of the test stands continued their development to fulfill testing requirements set up by important projects ongoing these days. In particular, HL-LHC triggered to the extension of the CERN, BNL facilities but not only as new test stands are in construction in Sweden, complete renewal of vertical test facility is undergoing in CEA. Out Chinese colleagues are recently joint the HL-LHC collaboration and they successfully tested magnets in their facilities for HL-LHC and other projects. GSI extended its test capacity and are ready to inaugurate a new test facility located at CERN and another in Salerno.

The first motivation of this 3rd workshop is as the previous occasions: to see each other and set up collaborations, directions and share where is possible our efforts in pushing the technology of testing of superconducting magnets.

Together with the scientific committee members, this year we propose you also specialized talks in the domain of testing as cryogenic design and operation, current leads for test stands, energy extraction and electrical integrity test. The visit of the host laboratory installations is organised, as usual, by our local organizing committee.
