FASER (ForwArd Search ExpeRiment) is a new experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, located in a unique position 480 m downstream from the interaction point used by the ATLAS experiment. It is designed to both provide world-leading sensitivity to the discovery of new light and weakly coupled elementary particles, and to study the interactions of high-energy neutrinos in a relatively small, quick, and inexpensive experiment. The detector is currently under construction and will be installed in the LHC in October 2020 and start taking data in 2021.

This seminar will describe the physics motivations, detector design, expected performance of FASER, the current status, as well as the physics prospects.
