Description
FREIA laboratory plays a crucial role in characterizing superconducting components for large scale accelerator facilities. In recent years FREIA successfully verified the performance of superconducting RF (SRF) cavities and cryomodules for cutting edge proton accelerators. SRF cavities enable high-power beam acceleration and are contained in cryomodules, which provide cryogenic cooling. In this presentation we will give a short introduction to SRF cavities and describe the characterization tests of such cavities and cryomodules performed at FREIA.
